The Pharmacy Council responds to criticisms over the disciplinary measures it took against four pharmacists, as outlined by the Pharmacy Defence Association on page 8. The statement is as follows:
An Auckland pharmacist has been censured, ordered to pay $42,000 and had conditions placed on his practice for inappropriately dispensing methadone and clozapine and keeping incomplete dispensing records
A former Auckland pharmacy owner has been censured and ordered to pay $20,000 in costs after he claimed for repeat prescriptions patients did not collect and flushed medication down the toilet
