Call for classmates to reconnect after thirty years
Call for classmates to reconnect after thirty years
The Pharmacy Graduation Class of 1991 is having a reunion in Dunedin from Thursday 3 March to Sunday 6 March 2022.
Amanda Williams says “It is thirty years since we graduated. We are trying to contact all our classmates. That includes those who graduated with us, as well as people in our class who took longer to complete their qualifications. We want everyone to have the opportunity to attend.”
We have a Facebook Group with lots of photos and reunion information called “School of Pharmacy Graduating Class of 1991”.
The reunion starts on Thursday evening with drinks and nibbles. On Friday the University is open so we hope to tour the School of Pharmacy, the Anatomy Museum and spend time in the Barnett Lecture Theatre. Plans are under discussion for other activities including a tour of the University up the Clock Tower and to see the view from Unicol's roof.
There will be lots of opportunities to mingle and catch up with classmates with both planned activities and free time. Dunedin is a great place for a holiday at that time of year.
We want everyone to have the chance to come, as well as to have something to look forward to next year. There is no obligation. We are asking classmates to update their contact details with Otago University by emailing reunions.alumni@otago.ac.nz or online at https://alumni.otago.ac.nz/alumni-update-form?erid=9585298&trid=9c835813-7837-4b5b-9a2d-d372ee94193b
Organisers are Amanda Williams (nee Armitage), Paul Larson & Susan Lambert (nee Douglas).
Amanda says “We have had great fun finding friends who we’d lost touch with. It has been interesting finding out where everyone is these days.
Half of us are still working in pharmacy. The rest have retired or have moved on to a diverse range of other activities and occupations. We encourage other years to plan their reunions too. The reunion will be a special opportunity to reconnect, reminisce and let our hair down.”
