Kevin Pewhairangi (Te Whānau a Ruataupare) grew up on the East Coast of New Zealand in Tokomaru Bay and speaks te reo Māori as his first language. He lives in Wellington with his partner Kasey and their two boys Mikaele and Mataio. Kevin is a pharmacy manager at Village Pharmacy Ngaio, and is a governing member of Ngā Kaitaikai o Te Puna Rongoā o Aotearoa – The Māori Pharmacists’ Association where he holds the role of student liaison representative.
He has worked with PSNZ and EVOLVE over a number of years writing cases, facilitating training days, assessing and training actors for the Assessment Centre, and worked with different pharmacy organisations, promoting Hauora Māori within the profession
