"Where possible, pharmacists are asked to substitute Pharmacare Paracetamol 500mg x 1000 tablets in plastic bottles, which are also publicly funded and unaffected by the shortage. The substituted bottled paracetamol must be dispensed in compliance packaging."
This is not what was requested by PHARMAC and is a little mis-leading. Pharmacy were requested to move to loose tablets in plastic bottles of 1000 tablets rather than deblistering for compliance packaging, which some continued to do.
As to supply - a simple call to your wholesaler Branch Manager or Key Account Manager could have resolved individual issues.
