Pharmacy Today’s new Pet of the Month feature shines a spotlight on our furry (or feathered) friends. We start with Pharmacy Today reporter Jonathan Chilton-Towle’s dog Snuggle P

This winter, we’re rolling out a Pet of the Month feature, where our favourite domestic creatures will feature in the pages of Pharmacy Today.

First up is Snuggle P Snuggleton (don’t ask about the name), a five-year-old pug. He is tiny in size but gigantic in personality.

For a dog that doesn’t bark much (or make much of any noise except snorts and snuffles) he communicates very loudly, usually by staring accusingly at you with the clear implication of asking “why aren’t you giving me food?”.

As with most pugs, food seems to be Snuggle P’s primary reason for existence. His favourite activity is sitting in the kitchen and “helping” when someone is cooking.

He will eat almost anything, from vegetables to disgusting things he finds on the ground.

On the rare occasions when he decides he has had enough to eat, Snug Pug is a very loving, loyal and funny companion.

Pugs are described as the clowns of the dog world, and this is definitely true for Snuggle P.

He always finds a way to make us laugh, although I don’t think this is intentional. He conducts himself with immense dignity which makes it 100 times funnier when he falls off the couch or farts and scares himself.

All in all, Snuggle P is the best dog anyone could ask for and my partner and I love him very much.

Do you have a candidate for Pet of the Month? Email editor@pharmacytoday.co.nz with a picture of your pet and a few words (maybe 100-200) about why you love them. The prize? Your pet could feature in the pages of Pharmacy Today.
