Mythbusting with Nicorette
Myth 1: Using NRT is swapping one addiction for another

False. NRT delivers a therapeutic dose of nicotine to the brain gradually, making it considerably less addictive than cigarettes1,2.

Myth 2: NRT doesn’t work

False. Using NRT can double a smoker's chances of quitting for good vs willpower alone3. The key to success is using enough NRT for long enough.

Myth 3: You can’t use more than one NRT product

False. Using multiple forms of NRT (such as patch plus gum, lozenge, inhalator or spray) can double a smoker's chances of quitting4. Advise quitters to apply a patch first thing when they wake then use a short-acting format throughout the day when cravings strike.
