“It was the dirty end of winter” (thanks Nick Cave), as I began writing this last month. A time when COVID-19 was once again on the rise, everyone seemed to be sick with a range of ills – the quieter roads were a good indication – but over-riding everything was the ongoing exhaustion, despondency and low morale. And not just in healthcare!
