At what point do we, New Zealand's pharmacists, question whether there should be a change to the concepts surrounding "Sole Supply"?
It's clearly not working adequately, yet all we get from Pharmac is "Thanks for assisting 'us' with this issue." That's not good enough. I can't, and shouldn't, say that to my patients yet we're expected to lap that up?
The system is broken. Fix it!
Thank you for helping New Zealanders attempt to quit smoking with Champix® (varenicline tartrate) over the past decade.
Change is now coming.
From 12 December 2018, the Champix® brand will be replaced by Varenicline Pfizer (varenicline tartrate), and from 1 January 2019 Varenicline Pfizer will be fully funded.1
