This shows an amusing lack of insight really - If a Doctor was to perform a minor operation - say remove a wee lump, and used perhaps a couple of sutures at a cost of say $5, spending maybe 20 minutes on the procedure, would they then price the service at "Cost of materials plus markup plus GST", and maybe charge the patient $10 including GST?

I don't think so!

It is of course necessary to factor in the total cost of service, including consultation time (if any), time and sill involved in the dispensing process, including checks etc. and this may well need $10 per tablet to do safely and ethically.
