Pharmacy Quality Audits Update 2021-2022 Q3&4
Medsafe is today publishing the updates to the pharmacy sector on the findings from audits conducted under the pharmacy quality audit framework during the period 1 January 2022 to 30 June 2022. The purpose of these routine updates is to support continuous quality improvement in the pharmacy sector by providing an overview of current audit trends and findings.
We acknowledge there is work to be done in the pharmacy sector to improve performance and Medsafe is continuing to work closely with key stakeholders including Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, Pharmacy Council, Pharmaceutical Society and pharmacy sector agents to raise performance.
Medsafe appreciates that it has again been a challenging period for pharmacists and we again wish to thank pharmacies around New Zealand for their work.
The audit programme for pharmacies is an important activity to ensure the public’s trust in the pharmacy services offered by licensed pharmacies is maintained.
Note. The pharmacy quality audit update documents are accessible through MCOLS (https://medicinescontrol.health.govt.nz/mcols) in the Audit Resources section of the Resources page.
