Iconic New Zealand footcare brand Gran’s Remedy is now available in store to consumers in China after the Endeavour Consumer Health owned company signed a distribution agreement with leading retailer Watsons.

The agreement sees Gran’s Remedy Original product range available in 1,500 Watsons stores across mainland China, bringing greater global exposure to the Kiwi-based foot deodorant manufacturer.

Watsons is a global healthcare and beauty care retailer with more than 12,000 stores in 24 countries across Asia, Europe and the Middle East. In China, the company operates more than 3,200 stores and has 64 million members in 438 cities.

Endeavour Consumer Health Executive General Manager Jez Hawkins said the deal will provide more choice for Chinese consumers, while also furthering the reach of a much-loved brand.

“Gran’s Remedy is an iconic New Zealand brand that continues to perform strongly in both domestic and global markets,” he said.

“Following the acquisition by EBOS-owned Endeavour Consumer Health in 2018, we’ve sought out strategic opportunities to grow this reach in key international markets.

“However, to this point, Chinese consumers have only been able to purchase Gran’s Remedy online, so this deal not only strengthens our presence in the market but also provides greater access for consumers through a major retailer in Watsons.”

To date, Watsons has purchased more than 60,000 Gran’s Remedy products and it is the only footcare deodorant powder ranged in its Chinese retail stores.
