The Australian subsidiary of healthcare specialist Pharmaco (NZ) Limited has extended its range of blood glucose meters and test strips to include two new subsidised listings on the National Diabetes Service Scheme (NDSS) product schedule.
The range distributed by Pharmaco Australia Ltd now numbers five meters and their test strips, offering the 1.29m Australians who live with diabetes a lot more choice for managing their daily health while fitting it in with their lifestyle.
Two new meters are now included in the extended range, the CareSens Dual, for both blood glucose and blood ketone measurement, and the CareSens N Premier - both are Bluetooth enabled, best suited for high volumes of testing and are already available in New Zealand under Pharmaco’s sole supply agreement.
Chandra Selvadurai, Managing Director of Pharmaco says the Australian announcement is a great opportunity for Pharmaco’s trans-Tasman diabetes business:
“Being able to increase our range in Australia is a vote of confidence for the CareSens products and how we as a company serve people with diabetes in both markets.
“This has been made possible because of our partnership with i-SENS, a leading global biosensor and electrochemistry technology specialist. We have worked with its team of scientists and product developers for around 15 years, which has been a vital support for our role as sole supplier in New Zealand since 2012, and a provider of meters and strips in Australia since 2014.
“With this range extension in Australia we now have even more scope to grow our experience and continue to innovate and bring the best technology and products to people with diabetes on both sides of the Tasman under the umbrella of our specialist Pharmaco Diabetes division,” he says.
“It’s going to remain a competitive market in Australia but we are delighted we have been able to broaden our range and we are confident we will grow our market share by offering the best technology, real choice and personal service.
“One advantage is we are a truly trans-Tasman company, privately owned in the region and with a unique connection to the diabetes community and the challenges people with diabetes have every day in managing their health.
“Our experience has meant a lot of listening to what people want from a blood glucose meter,” says Chandra Selvadurai.
“Everyone needs meters to be easy to operate, accurate*, high quality and technically advanced, but they also want great design that fits easily in the hand or pocket, and an easy to read screen. All of which are attributes of the CareSens range.”
